World Prematurity Day

I never realized it had its own day until I saw on someone else's blog.
But Thought I'd share a picture. (Or 4)
These were scanned and copied to a disc, and because I couldn't figure out how to crop it to just one photo, you get all 4. Even though some are sideways. :)

Here is my little 33 weeker. :)
Born at 3 lbs 8 oz, Zachary was a healthy little guy but had to spend 44 days
(6 weeks) in the NICU because he wouldn't suck.
He received his feedings through a tube that went through his nose into his stomach.
Once he started getting bottles of milk for all of his feeding he was able to come home!
It was such a relief and scary all at the same time.
I was 18 years old with this tiny baby, but we made it work!

Here is my little preemie today:

You would never know this kid was born at 3lbs 8 oz, would you?
You would never know that this guys heart rate dropped so low that my doctor
decided I was having a c-section, NOW!

I am so grateful for you Zachary J.
I am glad you came when you did.
I am glad you got to spend extra time with your dad before he left this world.
And I am glad that he got that time with you as well.

I am proud of the boy you are.
I am proud of the son you are
and I am proud of the brother you are.
You are an amazing kid.
We are LUCKY to have you in our lives.
