Post-Partum Questionnaire

I just read this great questionnaire over at Mama at Home and decided to steal it since I am
2 weeks postpartum as of today.

How far along were you when you had your baby?  39 weeks

How long was labor? No labor- I had a repeat c-section

Total weight gain: 24 pounds

Total weight loss so far: 23 pounds

Back into your own clothes yet? No. I did try on a pair of
jeans and can get them buttoned,
but unless a fat roll over the top comes in style,
I'll be wearing my maternity pants a little longer.

Did you get stretch marks?  I got a few that added onto my old ones,
but luckily they are small!

How is physical recovery going?  Recovery is actually going well.
I was out of the hospital after 2 days and I am really feeling like myself again.
My body lets me know when I over do it, and I still get tired pretty quick.

Best moment this week:  Cuddling a sweet baby girl is right at the top!

What do you miss about being pregnant? I don't miss anything yet!
But I'm sure I will at some point.

How did you come up with Summer's name? We had a really long list
of girl names, and after a lot of narrowing down, adding more names,
narrowing down again, we ended up with Summer.

Is Summer named after someone? Her first name of Summer is not,
but her middle name is Lucille which is after my Grandma,
Bonnie Lucile who passed away

How big is Summer? As of today she was 7 pounds 14 ounces

How is her temperament?  She is a pretty great baby! She is pretty quiet
but will let me know when she is hungry or wet.

How is nursing going?  For the most part it is going great.
Summer is what I call a lazy latcher, meaning that she takes a couple of moments
to get latched, and she will open her mouth regularly and lose her latch. Then we have to
start over again. But once we get going, she is a great eater!

How many times have you been peed on? Barfed on?
I have been peed on and pooped on... no barf.
I don't want to jinx myself, but this girl doesn't spit up...
But what she does do? She can shoot poop!
One night, it was about 3:30 am and I woke up to feed and change her.
As I was changing her she pooped and it was a massive amount
AND it went all over my bedding...
In my sleepless stupor I got Summer cleaned up and back in bed,
stripped off the sheets and tossed them in the laundry basket, then got back in bed.
Well, the next morning I was up getting Tyler breakfast and Travis comes out of the
bedroom and asks if I saw the wall? Then he tells me it's covered in poop!
I go look and sure enough there is yellow poop on the wall. I guess when I tossed
the duvet cover in the basket it hit the wall first.... Yep, pretty gross!

What is the longest you have been away from Summer?
Well, I shower daily... so about 15 minutes?

Have you taken her out yet?
Oh yes. She has had 2 Dr. appts, grocery store runs, etc.

How/where does she sleep?
She sleeps in a cradle right next to me each night.
Most nights she actually sleeps pretty well.
Typically she wake up twice to eat and get a fresh diaper then it's back to bed.
Sometimes though, when it's 2 am, Summer likes to party. :)

What are you looking forward to?  Just watching her grow.
Watching her relationship with her brothers.

How are the boys doing?  The boys are are doing really well.
I didn't have any doubt about Zachary, but I was a bit worried about Tyler.
So far so good. Right now he loves his sister.
Some of the things he says to/about her are:

"Hi baby sister"

"so cute"

"tiny"

"kiss? kiss?" (because he loves to kiss her)

The real test is going to happen in a couple of weeks when Travis heads back to work.
Right now Travis and Tyler are BFFs and when
Daddy isn't here all dayto get him his chocy milk, or to take a shower with him, I really think things are going to change! But for now, he is a great helper: loves throwing sisters diapers in the diaper pail, getting her blanket for me, etc and loves his little sister!

(Feeling pretty good- 2 weeks postpartum!)
