MIA- Surgery style

Just over a week ago I finally had surgery to have my gall bladder removed.

The first couple of days were terrible. As in, it was way worse than even my c-sections and I was annoyed that I didn't at least have a sweet little baby to show for it. But now that I am 12 days out, I am feeling pretty great, and ready to take on the world again!{Maybe not the world, but you get the picture}

I'm not able to work out for 4 weeks! Which is a pain in the middle of my weight loss journey, as I am 30 pounds down, 32 to go. But I have a couple of weeks before I can really do a lot, so right now I am just trying to eat decently {we do still have Halloween candy in the house, after all}. Today I had my follow up appointment and I can start walking again, but with mornings like today, when I woke up to 25 degree weather (and tomorrow is supposed to be 18), I don't really have an interest in bundling up the kids to go walk!

Here was the day of surgery:

Just 5 small incisions to add to my collection of stretch marks! But I'm glad it's done! And I look forward to eating food without worry if tomorrow I will be in agony!  Have you had your gall bladder out? How was your recovery?

  1. I'm happy to hear that you're doing well. I've never had my gall bladder out but I've had a C-section.

    Look after yourself as your weight loss journey will continue when you're better and you'll do great! Looking forward to hearing about all your successes.

  2. I had mine out 10 yrs ago like I said in the fb comment. I was 98 the day of surgery and my weight to this day still goes up and down. I still have trouble as my dr says some people do. Some dont. I unfortunately do and I have some of the same pain and symptoms that I did before I had my gallbladder out. some days are better than others. half the time I dont eat b/c I know what happens afterwards. If I had to quit eating everything that hurt me I'd be on a liquid diet.

  3. That sounds like a pain in the rear! I have heard that there is a small percent of people that continue to have problems and I have my fingers crossed that I'm not in that group! I know you said it's been 10 years but hopefully someday it'll get better for you!

  5. Stopping by from Journeys of the Zoo hop... Good to see you are doing well. I bet it feels good to not worry about eating certain things anymore. And super congrats on the weight loss! Still trying to lose some baby weight myself. The last 10 lbs is nearly impossible for me :)
